International Court of Justice

North Sea continental shelf case

Join the ICJ committee to argue or rule on this landmark historic case which beyond ruling on the key issue of maritime borders was a key precedent in international law and the formation of customary law. Join this international moot court proceeding to practice your legal skills, sharpen your knowledge and increase your understanding of international proceedings

The International Court of Justice, situated in the Hague, is the UN body which adjudicates disputes between countries and gives opinions on international legal questions. In MUN this committee is basically an internationally flavoured moot court. Due to its very technical nature and specific rules, the ICJ is best suited for more experienced delegates.

Mihnea Pinzaru

Good evening ! My name is Mihnea Pînzaru and I am more than delighted to be one the chairs at the first edition of AmsterMUN in the International Court of Justice!

I hail from the beautiful land of Romania and I am a soon to be 2nd year student at the European Law School at the University of Maastricht. Outside of the academic part, I like listening to dad rock, watch movies and go out with my friends. My favorite film of all time and one that I find myself quoting almost everyday is Reservoir Dogs!

 See you in Amsterdam!

About AmsterMUN

Founded in 2025, AmsterMUN was created to fill a surprising gap: despite being a global city with major universities, Amsterdam lacked a flagship international MUN conference. From December 5–7, 2025, we’ll bring together 200 students from around the world to debate pressing global issues across seven committees, including the UNGA, UNSC, European Council, and ICJ.

The conference is organised by the AmsterMUN Secretariat, part of SIB-Amsterdam | DUNSA, the Student Association for International Relations, founded in 1947 and home to over 300 active members passionate about diplomacy, politics, and international affairs.
