Historical Crisis

Seven Years' War in North America

Delve into and shape the first truly global conflict in world history: The Seven Years War. As France and Britain fight for the dominance over North America, other forces attempt to exploit the circumstances for their own benefit on land and sea. Explore the time period which historically established Britain as the dominant global power and laid the foundation of the French and American revolutions. However in this committee the course of this war may take a significantly different turn, only for you to decide.

Join the crisis at AmsterMUN and shape history to your liking! The historical crisis is a unique committee that will put you in the shoes of a historical character in the middle of a pivotal time in history and give you the opportunity to change the past to your character's benefit. A crisis committee trains your quick thinking, creativity, and political savviness.

María de la Torre Regidor

Backroom

Hiiiii! My name is María de la Torre Regidor, I'm 18 (nearly 19) years old and I'm from Spain. I study a double degree on International Studies and Law at the Carlos III University and I will be part of the backroom team of Historical Crisis.

I have a lot of favorite movies, and maybe the easiest thing would be to add a picture of the evolution of my Letterboxd's top 4, but for the sake of brevity I will say Little Miss Sunshine and Volver

Matthew Davies

Backroom

Hi everyone! I’m Matthew, a 24-year-old British guy who’s recently graduated with a degree in Management! I’ll be a backroomer in AmsterMUN’s crisis committee, which is amazing because I’m convinced Quebecois is the superior French dialect. I have too many favourite movies, but I just finished watching, and would recommend Empire Records! The movie itself is trash but the soundtrack is amazing

Simon Schiedler

Backroom

Hi, my name is Simon, a 24 year old computer science and also economics student, and I will be part of the crisis backroom team. I started doing MUNs back in 2023, directly going into a crisis committe not knowing what to expect or how much it it would differ from a normal committee. Since then I have been hooked. Growing up I was a huge fantasy fan, especially Tolkien and C. S. Lewis, so my favourite movies are the extended versions of Lord of the Rings.

About AmsterMUN

Founded in 2025, AmsterMUN was created to fill a surprising gap: despite being a global city with major universities, Amsterdam lacked a flagship international MUN conference. From December 5–7, 2025, we’ll bring together 200 students from around the world to debate pressing global issues across seven committees, including the UNGA, UNSC, European Council, and ICJ.

The conference is organised by the AmsterMUN Secretariat, part of SIB-Amsterdam | DUNSA, the Student Association for International Relations, founded in 1947 and home to over 300 active members passionate about diplomacy, politics, and international affairs.
