The Delegation

Welcome to the AmsterMUN Delegation, where Debate Meets Diplomacy!

About the AmsterMUN Delegation

Founded in 2018, AmsterMUN Delegation is a committee that helps students develop practical skills in public speaking, negotiation, and leadership. It is made up of motivated and ambitious students who are eager to challenge themselves and grow. Every Wednesday from 18:00 to 20:00, we run workshops and practice Model United Nations sessions. These include learning how MUN conferences work, simulating different committees, chair training, and improving essential skills such as negotiation, public speaking and resolution writing.

About Model United Nations (MUN)

Several times each academic year, the delegation travels to conferences across Europe that simulate real diplomatic events as closely as possible. At these conferences, delegates represent assigned countries by debating global issues, working together, and drafting resolutions to propose solutions. In addition to attending HarvardMUN in Boston every year, we also take part in many other conferences, including several that are partners of our own Model United Nations conference, AmsterMUN — which is also organised under SIB Amsterdam.

Our Conference Schedule for the 2025-2026 Academic Year includes:

AmsterMUN

December 5-7th: Amsterdam, Netherlands, our own model united nations conference, practice Model UN for following conferences

Harvard National MUN

February 12-15th: Boston, U.S., also called the Olympics of Model UN, our first big conference of the year

SiMUN

March 2nd-5th: Paris, France, students of Université Paris Panthéon-Sorbonne host their annual academic year conference

CBSMUN

March 12-15th: Copenhagen, Denmark, partner conference of AmsterMUN

TiMUN

April 24-26th: Tilburg, Netherlands, partner conference of AmsterMUN

EuroMUN

May 14-16th: Maastricht, Netherlands, one of Europe's biggest conferences, partner conference of AmsterMUN

LeiMUN

About AmsterMUN

Founded in 2025, AmsterMUN was created to fill a surprising gap: despite being a global city with major universities, Amsterdam lacked a flagship international MUN conference. From December 5–7, 2025, we’ll bring together 200 students from around the world to debate pressing global issues across seven committees, including the UNGA, UNSC, European Council, and ICJ.

The conference is organised by the AmsterMUN Secretariat, part of SIB-Amsterdam | DUNSA, the Student Association for International Relations, founded in 1947 and home to over 300 active members passionate about diplomacy, politics, and international affairs.
